This is an important development, as it is the first British RTR locomotive in history.

from a major mass-market manufacturer... There have been previous R-T-R British 009 models from various small-scale / cottage industry builders.

While the L&B loco is a significant development, I suspect that they will be out-sold by a large margin by the forthcoming Baldwin from Bachmann, it being a much more numerous and wide-spread prototype of which a handful survive.

  I must admit to having a fair amount of 009 stock and locos which when possible gets run on Ruleoneshire without the viaduct being in place.It confuses the grandkids at times when a 009 loco follows  normal N gauge stock around.
I even have a trackside crew and a wheelchaired old man  around when I am relaying track section. He needs  his beard repainting and smartning up a bit before he will be allowed on the board again.
