Bondic Adhesive
« on: March 21, 2017, 03:00:06 PM »
I was recently given some Bondic, which is a UV activated adhesive. Whilst being expensive it succeeded in repairing my spectacles whose frame had broken near the bridge. I had already tried epoxy and super glue without success. Bondic will not glue a butt joint as the UV light (supplied) cannot penetrate to the 'glue' so the adhesive has to be applied across/around the join and layers can be built up as required. A useful product for those difficult jobs.

Sounds interesting but surely the go to fix for broken specs is a Band Aid*
I've lost count of the number of schoolkids (like me) who had their National Health specs broken by the school bully and effected a repair this way :D

*Other medicinal type plasters are available.
