Thanks Johnny, mt Trojan has safely arrived.

For all those curious, this is what you get. A sturdy box containing instructions, a resistor and a well wrapped 3D print of Trojan.

The 3D print up close has certainly captured the look of the full size engine.

I look forward to carrying out some work at the weekend :)

Mine arrived today, very well packaged - thanks, eventually, Johnny !!

I now have the body, chassis, motor, resistor, etched nameplates etc etc - if only I knew how to put them all together !!

May well be back on here for a truck load of help,

Rob.

@Bob Tidbury

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the info via PM, very much appreciated !!

Do I cut the white wire in the middle and then solder in the resistor ?

Where were the Trojan etched nameplates from. I'm sure I saw a post about them but couldn't find it in the original Trojan thread.

Re: Trojan Deliveries -how to fit resistor
« Reply #22 on: March 03, 2017, 07:19:02 PM »
I have had several members asking where to fit the resistor so I thought Id give those who dont know a brief set of instructions.
First cut the white wire in the middle strip the insulation be carefull its a very thin wire then fit the resistor and wrap with a tiny bit of insulation tape just to be safe
Give the body a good wash Only Me recomends Swarfega. Dry it well.
Then a thin coat of primer let it dry completely again Only Me recomends Halfords Bumper Primer and.Let it dry
Fill the boiler with Deluxe Materials Liquid Gravity and a few drops of super glue.
let the glue set then give it another couple of drops to make sure you dont loose any of the little bits.
Then second thin coat of primer.
.Then paint of your choice BUT IT MUST BE ACRYLIC.
When thats dry a thin coat of varnish and just before it dries put on the name and numberplates, then another thin coat of varnish over it all.
You can wire the chassis to a permanatly coupled wagon and make up some pickups then your loco wont stall on insulfrog points.but you must use very thin soft wire to join the loco and wagon .
I hope this all makes sense and is of help .
Good luck to you all

Thanks Bob, that was everything except how to fit the resistor but I was going to ask for a refresher on how you painted it so that's handy anyway :)

I'm guessing the resistor just needs to be inline between one of the pickups and the motor?

You are a mine of practical and useful information Bob, thanks!

popped in Halfords while shopping today and got myself some grey Plastic Primer (they didn't have specific Bumper Primer, but guessing this is the stuff?)

Still nothing, I really had hoped that this situation was now sorted but this guy is still not responding to messages etc. thinking that I will have to go through the claim direction to get my money back, really frustrated and disappointed that it is coming to this.

Hi Simon,
It's disappointing to hear that your kit still hasn't arrived. I hope that Johnny gets in touch soon to let you know what is happening.

Had serious doubts about this guy originally but he does seem to have turned his act around. Do you have a Facebook link as he can be found on there. Under his real name Johnny Laing.
