EXCLUSIVE - RevolutioN HOA Hopper
« on: November 26, 2016, 10:57:20 AM »
Revolution is proposing the HOA hopper wagon as its next model in N.

These hoppers are a logical follow on from our well-received TEA tanker wagons as they have the same bogies.

The models will be produced by Rapido Trains and permissions have been granted for all liveries.

They were introduced in 2006 for EWS Construction, and nearly 200 are now in service between quarries in the North East, the Midlands and the South West to locations across the county.  They have also been used on Anglo Scottish sand flows.

These wagons were also chosen because, as well as running in block trains on their own, they are often seen in trains with other hopper wagons such as the two types of JGA wagon offered by Bachmann and as a kit by the N Gauge Society.

The liveries proposed by Revolution are:

EWS Construction - this is the original delivery and still in service today.

Cemex blue - shortly after their introduction many were given these colours to commemorate a major customer.

DB red - some wagons have now received the current corporate colours.

Ermewa/Tarmac - a large batch were recently built for wagon lessor Ermewa and are in use on Tarmac traffic from quarries in the Midlands to south east England.

VTG/Mendip Rail - these wagons were recently introduced between the Mendip quarries in Somerset and destinations across Southern England.

The guide price for these models is 30, or in different numbered triple packs for 90, and they will feature similar levels of detailing and packaging to the TEA tankers.   At this time we are seeking expressions of interest only, and no money is needed.

Hi Gang,

Looks like another winning choice....most people will take up multiple purchases to create a decent length train....
Now I wonder which liveries to choose....and how many???

Good luck with the expressions of interest.

Later,
Stu from EGDL.
A selection of my pictures, real & model ARE NOW to be found at...

I might have to arrange for a train of those.

But which ones is the question!

Good choice of wagon, which will sell well. Plus no new toolings for bogies which is a logical step.

Nice.

Here's a link to a site that gives more prototype data, especially dates of introduction and changes of livery which will help us to decide what to order (ahem, make an expression of interest ;) ).

Far too modern for me I'm afraid (by at least 40 years?)

now, if a few more of you would order those nice 4-wheel tankers I might stand a chance of getting my four......

Looks like I will be changing to modern Reading circa 2006. I might need a rake of EWS ones.

Any chance of an option to buy a realistic removable stone load?

Had a quick look on the website, where do we express our interest?

I'll probably buy a large rake.

BTW good choice, but not as good as a modern car carrier.

I'll go back into my cupboard now.

This is fantastic news!!!

I want to model the "Peak Forest Cemex Sdgs to Leeds Stourton Rmc" service, so the HOA's will go very well with the Farish RMC JGA's I have recently acquired!!!

Now I need to figure out the numbers for each of the liveries I am interested in (EWS, Cemex & DB Schenker).

Thanks Revolution Trains, I will place my expression of interest as soon as it goes live on your website!

Regards,
Ben.

Another good choice for a modern wagon nut like me. I'll be in for a meaningful rake of Mendip Rail/VTG ones at least.

Brilliant choice!

Lots of pondering ahead in terms of my livery choice(s!).

Good luck with the project.   :beers:

I need some of these to make up a full rake with JGAs on Lofthole and Deansmoor. Nice choice!
