Excellent ! Thank you for the heads up on this problem. I fixed my Class 40 problem and would love to get the 31 back fully running again.

Stay well
Guy

The fault will be that one of the three diodes on the underside of the board has gone open circuit. If you have a meter put it onto continuity and put the probes either side of each one.  The one that completes the circuit and causes the constant beep will be the culprit!
Hi  I have the same issue with the 31 model so followed your advice on testing the diodes both D1 and D2 show open circuit. They are marked as SR on the top but where can I get replacements any suggestions? Thanks

Something like this should work if you put into ebay search

ON Semi MBR0520L SMT Schottky Diode 20V 500mA 2-Pin SOD-123

Just wanted to update you and say thanks again for taking the time to advise regarding the class 31 problem. The diodes arrived during the week so I got down to it today and replaced 1 diode (got 4 just in case) pretty simple to do I was expecting problems! The one thing I didn't realise was the loco won't run if the circuit board is not screwed back on as 2 of the 3 screws (each end) are used for carrying voltage. Great to have it back working :laughabovepost:
