I got a yellow one yesterday (ordered from DM Toys on Thursday night delivered to work yesterday morning). Some of the detail is quite basic, and not of the standard we see from the likes of Kato, but it is a reasonable working model, not exactly UK prototypical, but as Ben says, it's quite plausible.
I intend to fit buffers at both ends, remove the side screens, paint the under frame and tamping gear.  Fit modern overhead warning signs, cantrail stripes and some Network Rail logos and it should look the part to most people hopefully.
Then I'll stable it next to my N sprays tamper.

Well, I've done all that, but struggling to get a photo of it from my gallery to here!  Any advice.....

Sorry for dragging up a donkeys year old thread BUT.........

Is everyone who owns one of these opinion different to what they first thought???

I've read all the reviews online, I get the light bleed and lack of running lights

Are they good runners?
Can they be converted to DCC?
Have any running lights mods been achieved?

I know @Snowwolflair suggests huge dissatisfaction with the quality and the Shapeways print does look fantastic but the Tomytec TM04 chassis is impossible to obtain at the moment so is there a recommended alternative??

If that route becomes more viable ........

Are Tomytec chassis easy to convert to dcc??

Maybe just pie in the sky at the moment but always loved the idea of a tamper on a layout
