Crowd fund a Deutsche Bundesbahn Br82 0-10-0T
« on: July 24, 2016, 07:59:56 AM »
Is anybody interested in crowd funding a Deutsche Bundesbahn Br82 0-10-0T steam locomotive (in N of course)?

I suspect you'd be better off asking on a German N gauge forum, I'd guess the number of people modelling DB era steam in English speaking countries is fairly low, and of those the number who would be interested in a specific locomotive which is evidently obscure enough not to have been modelled in N yet, is going to several orders of magnitude lower than the number required to make a kickstart project viable.

I was just going to add this! Great minds.....

Have there been any continental crowd-funding exercises?

I haven't heard of one, but I don't really follow the German scene so can't rule it out completely.

Let me just plonk these links here as I was curious:

DB Class 82 (Wikipedia)
DB-Baureihe 82 (German Wikipedia)
Modellbau-Wiki BR 82

Just 41 of these built, in service 1950 ~ 1972.

If it was to 1:148 rather than 1:160 definitely, but therein lies the issue, it would be either right for British or Continental but not both.
