R.I.P. Caroline Aherne

Caroline was a troubled spirit but was hugely influential in the comedy world. I'm sure many of us remember 'The Royle Family', 'The Fast Show' and 'Mrs. Merton'

A very sad loss

I was shocked to hear of her death.

I thought the Mrs Merton Show was so funny with her asking the questions no one else would.

She knew she wasn't in for a long life due to her genetic problem causing various cancers from an early age, I'd imagine that would have contributed to her depressive illness too 

RIP Caroline, you made us laugh, and for that we thank you.

I remember the original appearances of "Mrs Merton" on Late-night Radio (Martin Kelner's shows) in the late 1980s. Very funny and different. Sometimes subtle sometimes not so subtle, but never offensive as many so-called comedians of the time were...
