Afternoon all,

Do the GF MGR hoppers look ok with the old Minitrix ones?

I have a rake of minitrix ones and would like to extend it.
Cheers

I had a couple of older minitrix ones and when the Farish ones came out I started mixing them. They look fine from a model perspective even down to the fake coal loads fitting in both Farish and trix.

The only trouble I found was with the coupling. When my loco was pulling these trucks I found the Farish ones coupled to minitrix ones would break apart. Especially on corners.

I since sold all my minitrix ones because of this. Other wise they compliment each other well.

I run a mixed rake and it's hard to tell them apart from "normal viewing distances". It's worth replacing the Minitrix silver pizza cutter wheels - the Farish replacements fit perfectly.

Happy modelling.

Do you have any problems with them uncoupling?
