Had my scan. In and out in 8 mins. Given the all clear, so no further tests. If you haven't been offered a test and you are over 65, call 01214241200 or 01214243612 and they should be able to sort you out.
:claphappy: That's good news Malc. I might even give them a ring next week

Oldman

Respiratory MOT passed - Chronic COPD confirmed but stupidly blood /oxygen level was 99%.
Prescription collected and told book in with a doctor to sort out the other problems.
Big thumbs up to the nurse who actually knew what she was doing and understood my concerns

Mine is only a scan. Shirt off, KY jelly on, rub over with probe. Results and out. 15 mins is what they say, but I'll believe it when it happens. It is the Aorta scan they offer to all over 65 s. My birthday was on the 5th of this month, so they are quite efficient.

The results of such scans are directly related to the age of the nurse rubbing on the jelly!

Sincerely hope that everything is OK.

Peter.

Good news by the sound of things Oldman
I must say that I checked my SATS over the weekend and was surprised at how high it was (95%) but any 'activity' soon rains it down again New COPD  nurse took over at myGPs last year and its taken nearly a full year to 'train' her and prove that I don't waste her time and can accept treatment if its given properly

Does anyone know how Mick (NPN) is doing?

Cheers
Mark

Malc

I asked Dave yesterday, but he hasn't heard anything. Mick was told to leave his phone at home, and there is no wifi,  so we won't hear until he gets to his moms.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Are there any guestimates on how long is a piece of string, ie. when he will be allowed out ?

I said he should go to Bristol !
They allow phones ( they used mine to keep my folks informed ! ) and they have wifi ( but I didnt need that cos I have a 3G dongle ).

Can you get treatment for that on the NHS these days?  :). David.

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

and before anyone asks, that was without telling them the types of people and forums I frequent  :smiley-laughing:  :laugh3:

Unfortunately, he had to leave his phone at home and has probably not got a card that works the old fashioned types. Assuming he had the op on Tursday, he should be out tomorrow or Sunday.

Bealman

Glad all is well with you Malc and like everyone else I'm waiting on news from Mick.

I'm back at Chez Bealman from the reef and will be posting some pics soon.
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

I spoke to Mick the day before his op and he said he expected to be in hospital 4-5 days after the op.
Then he would recuperate at his mums for a few weeks.
Davie b will probably be first to hear how Mick is.He said he would let us know as soon as he hears some news.
