This business is plannng a 3D printed Modern Mercedes Citaro single door single deck bus in right hand drive format.

They also have a website, but at the moment there is no mention of the N version. Maybe time for some lobbying. No further information that I can see at the moment.

Probably one to watch seeing as there is not many other accurate modern single deck bus models around. I can only think of the N train one.

N-Train has been developing versions of the Citaro for a while. It will be available in Bendy Bus, single door and dual door versions.

I am also looking at making a body kit to fit onto a Tomytec moving bus chassis.

The static models should be available in about 4 - 6 weeks time.

The moving bus version will take a little longer as I am ordering some road to do test runs on.

Bob. Good to see these prototypes of the earlier Citaro. Just an idle thought about the Bendibus version. Maybe one of Barry Morton's black bellows might make it really bend. I have seen a motorised Faller Citaro Bendibus based on a Faller chassis, and two bodies. Mesmerising to watch it.

Plenty of space

btw, the bendy bus is articulated and can be posed.

The kit will have the body, base, with seats and separate wheels which can be painted before fitting.

If interest extends to 1:160, there are a number of modern German buses available such as the Mercedes Benz O 405 by Minitrix and the slightly earlier MB O 307 and MAN SU 240. DM Toys now has a separate search option for buses (usual disclaimer - just a satisfied customer).

There is also the extensive range of modern buses and coaches in the Rietze range in 1/160, some older ones in the Minichamps and Lemke Minis ranges, and several US brands. But right hand drive 1/148 up-to-date single deck service buses are very scarce. The most recent one I can think of in the ready to plant ranges is the Scenecraft Leyland National.

Incidentally Rietze planned a London Citaro about 10 years ago but there were virtually no pre-orders for it in 1/160 scale, and it was cancelled.

The Leyland National in question is not quite 1/148 it is nearer 1/160

There was always the old Minix bus at 1/135, about as far out in the other direction as the Scenecraft National! No problem motorising that with a Tomytec chassis!

Hi All - great to see there's interest in the N gauge version of the Citaro too! The release date is currently not known, or the price, as we are currently having some issues with the cost of printing. The N Gauge model has been designed to 1:148 scale, but a 1:160 scale model will also be released if there is enough interest.
