Look forward to the updates. Glad the move was a success. Cotswolds? Very nice.

Finally the end of Geominster and the new layout rising from the ashes. Sad  to dismantle it but spurred on  by better things to come.

I will post the new Geominster progress later.
A new layout Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line has been created after moving home and not being able to accomodate the old layout.

This then is my third version which is vastly improved from previous efforts.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled.

Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

That is a mighty garage there! Or is a hangar for a B2 Stealth bomber that you have been lucky enough to acquire? Eager to see how Geominster (MK. 3?) emerges.

As promised a long overdue update, yesterday the new track was tested so trains are running again finally.

Take a look at the video, nowhere near finished but the potential to run four tracks together so the grandchildren etc can be involved. I will document progress shortly.

Looking good George.

Thanks Chris, we had a running session yesterday with grandchildren aside from one track behind Nelevator that still needs the track pins pushing in it worked, so three out of four tracks finished and working. I will sort the fourth over the weekend and look at what to do with the Heritage Line storage sidings and turntable. Then the point motors need dcc connections and the laptop mimic applied. A lot of planning on scenery and platforms etc to do but at least meanwhile I can play.

I have been rather distracted of late with a lot of jobs at the house so progress has been fairly slow but Geominster is alive and developing.

I now have four independent running lines and can watch trains pass whilst doing a bit of shunting as well. The scenery is next priority and hopefully I can plant the hillside with trees shortly to encourage further growth.

I have added five Powercabs to the layout, in principle one to each track and another for the shunting, I have done this for simplicity when grandchildren turn up. Of course each Powercab can run any loco anywhere on the layout.

Yesterday was spent going through loco stock, sorting and recording location in storage, a list of DCC codes and locations prepared to assist finding them.

The entire layout is cluttered with tools and part built items awaiting placement and are part of the planning process, an improvement form being in boxes and wondering what I have and where. The plan is to permanently place them and build onwards.

Yesterdays latest arrival from the Farish Avro Vulcan set on the viaduct bridge.

I will take a series of photographs later documenting progress and update a lot more frequently.

More photos will be taken today and posted later showing the actual progress made recently.

I have taken a journey around Geominster with a test run with 0-6-0 loco SDJR pulling the Derails special edition wagons. The new SECR sound fitted loco pulling a rake of Birdcage carriages in brown. The Western Enterprise in green on a Milk Marketing Board tank run.

I still have a lot of work to do on scenery and cleaning up the tools etc. I have no fixed plans on town and countryside but I am sure it evolve naturally.

The you tube link below should take you to the video.

Great to see trains running again, George, and so smoothly too. The SECR set is particularly nice and makes my black/crimson set look quite 'dull'
