For someone there is an opportunity just waiting to be grabbed.
When Minitrix manufactured the 9F Crownline did a conversion for it to make it a Franco Crosti type.
If you can get the kit now you'll be looking at over 50.

We assume that Dapol will never make a Franco Crosti version of their 9F, so there is IMHO a chance for someone to make a conversion kit or a full body for the Dapol 9F.

I know nothing about crowd funding or even ink printing, but there has to be a person out there who could take this on...I'm up for three!!!!

over to you intelligent folk  ;)

If the demand is there maybe Steve could do a 3D body to fit the Dapol chassis :hmmm:

Hi Bob,

An exagerrated eBay price does not necessarily mean there is a market for something, it can just be that two stubborn people got into a bidding arms race.

If you're serious I would recommend you decide the best way forward - complete RTR loco, complete drop-on unpainted body or a set of resin or metal conversion parts - and then get quotes where possible.

I am sure Atso could quote for a replacement body with the Crosti bits on to drop on a specified chassis.

Or you could email someone like Bernard Taylor and ask hiow much he'd charge to master up any resin or etched conversion parts and you could talk to casters/moulders about the likely cost of such components.

Once you have a price then you can decide whethre you thiknk it's worth proceeding, and look for fellow backers.

cheers - and good luck,

Ben A.

Thanks Ben. When current events have ended I shall have a serious look into it.
Best regards
Bob

Hi Bob,

One last thing - re-reading your OP I notice that you're assuming Dapol aren't planning one themselves.

It might be worth asking them whether this is true or not.  They may not want to tell you, but you never know.

cheers

Ben A.

I had heard not, but I will certainly ask the question again, Ben.
Cheers
