I have just read the terrible result of the accident at the Indycar race on Sunday having watched the accident during which he received the serious head injuries that caused his death. Justin was a great driver who I have had the pleasure of watching, on the box, compete across the globe in lower championships, Formula 1, Japanese sportscars and more recently in Indycar. The reports also suggest he was a very well liked individual, something that seemed to come over in interviews.
A very sad day for the Indycar family, British Motorsport, and, more importantly, his family.

My thoughts are with them during this terribly sad time.

Best wishes
Simon

Agreed, a very sad day for motorsport...
I remember when he drove for Minardi, and then Jaguar in F1, and I was frustrated that he couldn't get a drive after Jaguar dropped him at the end of the year.
I haven't really followed him since but had seen he had almost won the championship twice in champ cars.
Having read his results of his time in America, it seems he is a bit like Sirling Moss... he won some races, but the title eluded him, although he thoroughly deserved it.

RIP Justin, Thoughts are with his poor wife and 2 daughters, plus his family & friends
2 wrongs don't make a right...  But 3 lefts do  :P

A tragic shame, and just goes to show how 'lucky' Felipe Massa was at the 2009 Hungarian GP :(

very much so, a timely reminder that despite all the advances in technology, Motorsport is still very dangerous!

I remember seeing Justin start his career and always wanted him to excel so it was dreadful to see the news of him losing his life.

If there can be a "positive" from this however, his brother has tweeted that his donated organs have been used to help save the lives of six people. Imagine having - literally - the heart of a racing driver...

What a star. Justin, you've made me proud beyond words to carry a card.
