Hi everyone. I don't know if I have put this topic in the correct area, if not please accept my apology. I have been looking for a brake van for my pullman rake with no success. I have seen in the Bachmann collectors club that they are selling just that item for £27.95, which is a good price. Unfortunately I would need to join the club at a cost of £27 per year, plus postage for the coach of £4. As this is the only bit of rolling stock I now need it makes it very expensive at £59.95  Has anyone got any suggestions of where I could obtain a brake van that would look ok with my Pullman rake.

Take a look at this thread I started a while ago.

It might give you some leads.
:beers:
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Hi Len,
If you think one of the old SR Pullman brakes will do the job (Farish ref 0656) I have one I can part with for a very reasonable price. Drop me a PM if interested.

Thanks for your replies and kind offers guys. I have just got rid of the old Pullman brake I had so looking to replace it with something that matches the mk 1 rake I have.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the stove R from NG Soc come in Pullman livery?

Thanks everyone for your replies, they were all most interesting and helpful. I have decided to bite the bullet and get the Bachmann model. Its expensive but hey o. Len

I'd appreciate a photo of it when it lands please, Len, or you could bring it along to our Bamber Bridge Meet Up for us to nicksee ;)

How prototypically do you run your trains? The Pullman liveried Mk1 BCK only ran in the 1980s. Prior to that you'd need either one of the original wooden bodied vehicles or a standard Mk1 brake coach in Maroon or blue/grey as appropriate.

Happy modelling.

I am away next week so as soon as I return and get the coach I will see if I can get some decent photos  I am not prototypical at all Steven.  I run what I want. I have tried the Maroon brake on the rear but to me it looks awful and the blue/grey would be the only one on my layout, which was just as bad. Many thanks for your info all the same. Len
