Sadly Patrick has passed away but he'll never be forgotten to me as John Steed in the Avengers :(

Geoff

Loved the program RIP Patrick.

Very sad to hear after death of Christopher Lee, Donald Sinden,
Dickie Attenborough  etc , always the suave gentleman with
the killer touch . All the great names are leaving us.......

Hope I get to 93 years of age.

You realise that the time is progressing when you remember the original series in B&W!

If I keep all my marbles then think of the new releases in N Gauge to become available in the next 20 years.

Only Avengers I remember is the 'New' kind - Gareth Hunt, the lovely Miss Lumley, and Steed's stunning Broadspeed Jaguar

Sad to hear of Patrick's passing, I love The Avengers.

If you want a rail-related Avengers episode, especially if 25KV electrics are your thing, watch "A funny thing happened on the way to the station".

Lots of footage of BR Mk1s, mostly blue/grey but still plenty of maroon to be seen and some sightings of electric locos (not sure what type but in early blue livery).

DELETED

So many good actors passing away these days.  Modern-day movie-stars still have a long way to stand-up to them in comparison in my opinion!

It's funny how different generations remember folk although I have watched a bit of the Avengers.  One of my favourite Bond movies is "View to a Kill" and when I saw news of him passing I remembered the scene where Moore had him reluctantly fetching the bags from the car at Walkens' Mansion. Then the car wash scene (if I remember correctly) where Grace Jones appears in the back seat of the Roller when the wash rollers spatter bubbles everywhere and she garrotes him, then cooly drives the Roller out afterwards.

RIP.

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

It is sad indeed.
Did anyone else have the Corgi set of the vintage car as driven by Steed together with the white lotus of Diana Rigg. All complete with Steed and Rigg plus Steed's umbrella.
Now I wonder whatever happened to that set ?
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.
