What exactly constitutes 'Blue Riband' locos from Farish?

Probably just best to ignore the labelling/packaging and research each model before purchase. I'm pretty sure I've purchased a couple of items assuming that because they have the modern packaging with the yellow stripe, they're the very new tooling, but have ended up with something of older design.

The only difference between my non-Blue Riband box and all the other other wagon boxes, plus that for the loco, is the label on the end is a different layout and without the (black!) Blue-Riband symbol.  Bachmann is only mentioned in the address line on the back of the boxes. 

I don't intend to look for a capacitor, wouldn't know where to start (especially with no tools!), and would a coreless motor have one anyway?

I think that recent models are all obvious by their detailing... of course, that's if you are buying them by sight from a shop.

I agree with posts above that the Blue Ribband  label/sticker is probably meaningless.
