Hello, just starting out
« on: February 17, 2020, 11:43:11 AM »
Just a quick intro,
My wife has always loved steam trains and after seeing a model display now thinks we should get one!
So after much googling and you tubing, Ive taken up the challenge. Space is not really a problem, but as we have an 'outhouse bar' with a full size pool table that probably only gets used once a year, it seems the ideal place to start with a 8' x 4' base and go for N gauge, so am here.
Hopefully I'll be updating my plans and progress in the relevant sections.

Hello Captain, and welcome to the forum
Having the backing of your other half means no need to smuggle packages into the house ;D
If you are a complete newbie to model railways I'd recommend this.............

Welcome aboard.

Best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

For the made-up background to the railway and list of characters, please see here: https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=38281.msg607991#msg607991

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
