252 project
« on: February 14, 2015, 07:51:48 AM »
Hi Gang , in the albums section are pics of a newly arrived 3D print from Ivan Industries of a 252 power car , and in back ground GWR No 1 railcar. Ivan has a shapeways page well worth a look.
Dapol chassis fits perfectly which is good and provsion made with dimples on buffer shanks /rear beam for fitting brass buffers and dimples for locating handrails so a good model and best FUD print I have seen todate.

Despite handy hints on putting up a picture I get no pop up once I can get PC to submit I will provide updated page with pics
cheers
Robert

Hi Robert ,Ivan and Graham Jones are the two who done the BHE Railcar that I showed you at TINGS if you go to my albums you can see the finished model .
Thanks for your help when I was looking for a chassis .the Tomytec TM 12 was the perfect fit and if you bought from Plaza Japan a lot cheaper I think the TM13 will also fit but the wheel spacing is slightly out but not noticeable behind the skirts of the railcar.
Please post pictures when you've finished yours.
Bob

Hi Cleaned all three prints and given a misting in primer - very good with just a little layering visible, the lightest of cleaning up and a spray in rail grey . I have asked Railtec for a set of 252 powercar and trailer numbers so along with prepainted trailers this might? be done fairly quickly for me.

Bob thanks for chassis gen will check pics and I will have to look out pics for lining out !

Robert was kind enough to show me the 3D prints of the prototype HST powercars at the Glasgow show at the weekend - they look lovely!

Cheers, Mike

Hi Gang,

Got mine too today.......my version will be a slow starter due to work commitments.....but  I hope to have some progress in fairly short order.

I will be doing a rake of coaches (once stripped from a previously unfinished project!!!)....and I have just got hold of a Blue  Pullman for a look at the reverse blue grey livery too......

More updates when progress happens.....

Later,
Stu from EGDL....
