Hi Guys

I am not really shour where to put this as I was looking at my very small N gauge layout and what I wanted to do with it as am not that big of a fan but after I seen a model of some small tank locos of Andrew Barclays I has an idea of incorporating a small shed and a running line just like what's at Ayrshire preservation society in Scotland but I don't know where I can get the locos from the wagons are no issues as Bachmann/farish do most of the wagons I'd use so can anyone please point me in the right direction with this or do these locos need to be scratch built

Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan.

If you are looking for small industrial steam locos you will almost certainly have to scratch build them.

Others more knowledgeable than me might be able to direct you towards suitable chassis from the continental manufacturers.

It would be easier to go the diesel route as there are ready to run models of 2 or 3 of these available.

Good luck !

If you want an industrial steam loco you could convert a Fleischmann 0-4-0 tank.
The chassis is  not too unlike a Barclay  pug. The body is easily removed and you
could scratchbuild  a Barclay one or try to adapt the Fleischmann one by filing and filling.

This little engine is solid metal and very weighty for its size and pulls well.
I don't know if it is still a current product, I got mine on Ebay for £20
described as a poor runner, but merely needed fluff cleaning out and
adjusting a con rod connection.

Hope this helps

ps sometimes called a Fleischmann 7000 or Lok7

PS to last post, the Ebay seller of mine , a German (Vendito24UK) is currently
selling one, postage a bit dear but was sent signed for so seemed a a reliable
source.

Some of these locos go for £40 - £50.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the advice I can see I am going to be doing a lot of work if I am going to convince my loco club to build an industrial layout with a mainline added to it

Thanks
Alan
