Bottom line for me is that this project nearly didn’t happen due to insufficient numbers sold.

As Ben has said, if some people treated an order as an investment good for them in making this happen.

I for one was only prevented in buying one myself by not having the spare cash at the time (was buying a house as I recall), but when you look at the potential return on investment this was a winner.

I have a rule that I would never invest in something I dont understand well. Model Railways are one of my passions and if I could make a living out of them then I would.

Whoever has bought one (or more) for whatever reason then I sincerely hope you enjoy them or the profit you get from them. I look forward to many pictures, videos and viewings at exhibitions for years to come.

Speaking of “Investments”, anybody care to give me odds on this winning “Model of the year”?

With 4 x 11-car DCC-fitted on order, I do plan to keep them all... :heart2:
...that's providing they arrive safely... :hmmm:

Was wondering if Ben and Mike intend to (or are able to) email us when our orders are dispatched...? If such a request helps to complete a sentence which also contains the words 'straw', 'camel' and 'back'... then I quite understand. :sorrysign:

If it is possible, then the tracking number would be most welcome and will help make sure someone is in to receive the delivery. Hopefully, a signature will be required on delivery... :worried:

I do hope they're not using DPD. After a recent Hattons order, I discovered that DPD stands for 'Dump Parcel in Dustbin'... :o :veryangry:

Once again, thank you to Ben & Jerry, sorry Ben and Mike, for making all this happen.

While we have all been waiting patiently, I have enjoyed watching Jason Shron's YouTube videos, especially about what goes on in the factory in China. Most interesting.
Whilst not everyone might warm to his humour, he does remind me fondly of happy holidays in Canada, visiting extended family. One of whom bears a certain resemblance (in terms of humour) to our very own Mr Rapido... :D

Good luck with the packing, gentlemen...!
I had thought of going up to York this year, but it's not for me, all things considered... :(

Charles.
"...and Left To My Own Devices..." I probably will be playing with my four Pendolinos - soon...!

I never considered my Pendolino to be an "investment" as such.

Indeed, once my model arrives, I'll post a photo on this forum showing three (model) generations of Washwood Heath-assembled units side by side (101, 156 and Pendo).

Glad this wasn’t the ship the Pendolinos were on  :o

Hi all,

This happened in Karachi, fortunately after the Pendos had docked...

I have had three e-mails this afternoon, all titled "Order Complete".

One is for my TEA Tankers.  The other are for the two Pendos I ordered and shipping.

Are these invoices for the balance?

I assume the TEA one is a mistake; I have had them for ages!

Cheers Jon  :)

I got one for my last set of B tankers - the one I paid the full amount for, and it arrived a couple of day after they arrived.

Probably the billing software catching up.

The TEA notifications are just me tidying up the system.

Order complete is just our website's way of saying done.

The Pendolino ones I'm tidying up orders - some people have 3-4 orders per Pendolino set (deposit, balance, shipping if missed off, light bars etc).

We're getting quite a few queries about Pendolino deliveries and the current situation.

We picked, packed and sent out about 20-25% of the orders over last weekend.  That was Ben and I all weekend and two of our friends kindly helping out on Saturday!

We are sending them out in the order that orders were placed (if you placed more than one order then you *might* get all your sets at the same time but likely in one package per Pendolino set).

If our website monkey (me) has caught up with marking orders as complete on our website then you will get an email from us when your order has gone to the Royal Mail. If you paid a deposit and balance then you will get two emails - you're set will only have been sent once you get both emails.

Thanks for being patient - we're going as fast as possible! We do this in our spare time which for something like the Pendolinos means weekends mostly, plus we have to fit in the York show (next weekend) and family commitments so the next batch will likely not be sent out for a couple of weeks.

Cheers, Mike

Thanks Mike. I know it'll be worth the wait. :bounce:
