Further research has revealed the correct blue, which I've now ordered...

I think it's back in the brake fluid for this one - I don't like doing too many coats on large areas because the detail gets gummed up, so I'll strip her back and do it again.

On the plus side, these ones have come out OK...

Well, John Prescott did warn us the only people who would make money out of privatising BR would be the paint makers....

I had to swap workbenches over the weekend, from the nice warm loco-filled one in my kitchen to the one in the freezing, unheated conservatory...

The result - much jigsawing, backbreaking routing and a considerable amount of swearing later - is a Christmas present I'm making for a friend's son:

Not finished yet, but definitely getting there!

I will bring you more loco progress soon!! :)

Nice tho' it is, it's not doing that telescope much good.

I am feeling a bit guilty about the telescope. It will be thoroughly hoovered and polished...  :-\

A pleasure, Mike! :) Looks even better on the chassis and with some trucks to play with!

A couple of finished projects for your (I hope!) delectation...

Warships Trojan and Thruster:

A Class 21 which I've resprayed and glazed (boy, that was fiddly!!) for a Forum friend..:

A restored Class 27 - I rather like this livery:

And that dirty great big musical non-N Gauge thing that has been hogging the workbench progresses...:

More soon! :)

Thank you, Gideon, for the latest photos. As always, those Minitrix "Warships" look very fine. I'm sure that, next year, I will be succumbing to one! The Class 21 is a very fine piece of work from a quite basic metal kit. The Minitrix Class 27 has also come out looking very well. There's still plenty of these old Minitrix locos. around which deserve a new lease of life! 8-)

The 21 is mine and boy it looks fantastic, feel a bit guilty about the glazing....as for Minitrix warships you can NEVER have enough, although I may stop when I have the fleet.
Mind I have a suspicion that Gideon is aware of my warship affliction..... :claphappy: :claphappy:

They look great.

Is it just me, or do 'Trojan' and 'Thruster' sound like two of the Gladiators from the TV show, or a couple of dodgy porn stars?

Great work as ever though, and the guitar is gonna look awesome!
