Sorry for all the questions :)

Dummy buckey couple to micro trains?
Questions are fine - that's how we all learn.

[smg id=14043] Rapido and dummy Knuckle

As you can see from the above both are very similar in the end fitting and so are pretty much always interchangeable. It is be the length of shank on the knuckle style that has to be watched. They are available as Short Medium and Long. Rapido, as far as I know, only come in one length from suppliers, although there have been some customised versions around.

Dummy Knuckle is generally used to mean a non-action unit. If you look at the earlier link I posted you can see how most knuckle styles have two parts that move to enable uncoupling. A Dummy Knuckle is just one piece and normally has no provision for the small metal uncoupler downpipe.

Most Dummy couplers will work with most knuckles - they can just be a bit fiddly to ensure good contact and they are certainly a harder to uncouple as this has to be done manually.

Micro Trains (MTL) is just another brand name with their own product. see also Mc Henry, Kadee.....

Kato have dummy couplers on some of their stock (probably the worst for uncouplong)

Using the search feature on this forum will show/inform you of most if not all of these and by Googling you can find many images to identify against.

Just confuse you even more maybe - there are also "Body" mounted versions (my preference) of the knuckle.

Hope all this helps if not  --- keep asking
