Hi Dave

There's been some faffing trying to make sure the chocolate colour is right, as on the first set of samples it looked a little bit too green.

However, with the help of Matthew (Karhedron) and Richard from Dapol we think we have got the colours sorted and the production has been authorised.  I imagine it'll take between a fortnight and a month to make them, then they need to be shipped over, but I reckon they should be here in about 10 weeks, give or take.

cheers

Ben A.

Looking forward to all four of mine - but not sure how I'll get them past "the boss"! ;)
Still planning a layout...

Thanks Ben

Update much appreciated.

I'm hoping that delivery rather than collection can be organised as I have moved (last October) and placed an additional order since.

Hello folks

A bit of good news - Dapol have confirmed that all the Colletts have finished production and are due to put on a boat at the end of this week.

At the moment you don't need to do anything - we will let people know via the NGS website and Journal (and here) about the final price and likely delivery date.

Cheers, Mike

:claphappy:

Really looking forward to these. I have held the prototypes in my hands (was a bit sorry to hand them back in fact  ) and the finished articles should be well worth the wait.

 :thankyousign:

Yes good news.

I only have one Crimson & Cream ordered but look forward to it. I'm hoping the colours match closely those of the Dapol Collett's I have several of.

It's been a long lead-in time so I imagine there has been more than adequate orders placed for them?

Sorry, I am partly responsible for the delays as I wanted to check everything myself and make sure they were as good as possible. I have compared the choc and cream ones to the existing stock and they are a good match. Hopefully the other liveries will be similarly good matches.

I believe that at least one of the choc and cream liveries has already sold out. None of the livery options has been cancelled as far as I know so I think the order levels must have been satisfactory.

Well that's good news that none of the liveries appear to have been cancelled. It also bodes well for future projects if they have sold well. I will be at Thornbury show on the Saturday and will dwell at the NGS stand a few times. Maybe I should put a sticker on my coat with N gauge Forum..?!

Just in case there is any confusion the Colletts will still take several weeks to get here (by boat!) and will not be available at the Bristol show.

We will let members know of arrival dates and details for collection/postage and paying balances as soon as we have the information.

Cheers, Mike

I hope I did not cause any confusion or build up hopes re' the Collett BGs...apologies if I made anyones heart start to race.

I'm sure the majority of readers have grasped that they WILL NOT be available for several weeks, and certainly not at the Thornbury show.

I only mentioned the Bristol Thornbury show as its a biggie attracting people from a large catchment area. It would be nice to have a quick chat with any forum members attending on Saturday was my reason for mentioning it.
