Alas my layout is no more, but the new one is being built :). Without intending to hijack the thread, I do have 1 pic

Very nice. I'm trying to resist anything that needs overhead wires... Anyway, back at post 183 I mentioned that I'd bought the Minitrix set of 5 hoppers (Falns 183), each with a coal load and different running numbers. One of them wasn't properly assembled and the bogies fell off when I took it out of the box. A quick e-mail to DM-Toys and they said to send back the defective wagon. Today the replacement arrived. Good service (usual disclaimer...). And since we all like pictures:

I'm curious as to how they compare to the €12.90 Fleischmann ones... doe anyone have any pictures of those?

Fleischmann 852320 and 852321, with a pair as a set (852416) to follow. Available from DM-Toys (http://www.en.dm-toys.de/liste/search/hopper.html) but also Osbornes and Scograil in the UK at a fair price (i.e. not £/€). Other eras than era IV are available. They say "entry model" but so far as I can see they're the "normal" model, just an older one that Fleischmann have re-released to undercut the Minitrix and Arnold sets.

Thanks for the links Bruce.

They are cheap!  :confused1:

The ones I'm collecting (at a snails pace) are these. Just bought one today for only £7 which is how I like it. Got 3 now, just another 13 to go  :worried:

Pictures aren't that good as taken on a mobile, but you get the general idea.

Left to right Fleischmann new (Schenker), Fleischmann old (Cargo) and Minitrix.

(Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery)

There is little real difference between the Fleischmann ones. The red's are ever so slightly different, the old one has slightly crisper writing but then the newer one as some extra added colour parts. None of these things can really be seen once you get more than 30cms away.

The Minitrix ones are smaller as can be seen here.

(Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery)

Will be getting in some brown ones, next week probably.

Is the 204 a Fleischmann or a Brawa model?

It's a newer Fleischmann....I had some problems with the posts at the top of the steps so temporarily pulled them out....need to put them back now but they were a real problem while I was trying to get the body off to chip it.

If you like it run it......

I like the basic model a lot. Runs okay to. But I had such trouble trying to get the chip into my 203.
