……………... and it doesn't have the typical line through the lower half of the body moulding that the N coaches all have.

Which is surprisingly (for N Gauge) fairly accurate. :D

Some new rolling stock arrived by way of a set from MiniTrix which I found on ‘special’

A nice addition to your rolling stock.

I like the Cisalpino livery.
Because I wanted to put together the Italian version of this train I went for the similar Arnold set. Big mistake...….I have been waiting for more than three years for the extra Arnold coaches. >:(
Minitrix brought out their additional coaches at the same time as the set.

Yippee. Arnold have finally released the additional Italian Cisalpino coaches and I have been able to complete my train.

I have pointed him to Tank re advertising!

Hi Nicholas

This is definitely a N Gauge Coach, it may be in the wrong box as it was part of a large collection.

I have lots of Continental N Gauge Loco’s, Coaches and Wagons in stock. Any publicity for my web site would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

Ah yes that's more like it.    Nice coach, though £35 is a bit rich for me for one which wasn't particularly rare.  I will find out which one my mate already has, and maybe have a look around at what else Buckie has to offer.

A couple of new additions to Sustenbahn.
The Minitrix Crocodile is limited to 1400 examples and has been released to celebrate 100 years since they were first introduced. The RRP was a bit steep but pre-ordering and cashing in my Lippe bonus made it acceptable. ::)
The model is a smooth, powerful, runner with some convincing sound effects.  The body is a plastic/metal composite material but apart from that it is very much the same as much older versions. The chassis has, however, been updated and re-motored to cater for DCC Sound.

The Hobbytrain Re4/4 ll when first introduced had problems with motor failures. The latest version with rectangular halogen headlights has been given an improved motor (I hope  :D) and the underframe detail has been slimmed down to improve its appearance. Probably not quite as powerful as the Fleischmann Re4/4 ll but perfectly acceptable and a nice quiet smooth runner.

What a superb looking Kroc.   I’ve been wanting to pick up one of these magnificent locos for some time, but funds and SWMBO have to be considered, and I have yet to determine whether to buy a new model or one of the older versions that litter eBay.

New versions are now being listed from a few manufacturers, and so I have plenty of choice and decisions to make to choose the best value for my money from makers such as Minitrix, Jaegerndorfer  and Arnold.

For now I’ll just take longing looks at yours, John.

The new Re4/4 II’s from Hobbytrain also look good. I have a Fleischmann version in green, but another in red or the Swiss Express orange you have chosen will surely grace my fleet someday.

Now, where’s that Lottery win I’m due? :D

edit: looks like the Minitrix Kroc is now sold out :(

@daffy   I've had a Minitrix Krok since the 80s,  it's a nice runner though if I'm honest I prefer my Arnold Krok.   I think I prefer the look of the jackshaft drive on the Arnold model (difference between 6/8 II and 6/8 III design)  :D

A while back I read some concerns on German sites re the build quality of the Jaegerndorfer model but that may have just been a few rogue examples.

Thanks Nick. I did wonder about the Jaegerndorfer model as it’s not a make I have bought.
The Arnold models currently listed on MSL as in stock or reservable look attractive on price, so your comments are most welcome.

Just a quick question to all: what is the minimum radius these Krocs will happily negotiate?

@daffy   9" no problem. I would expect the Mx loco to be able to manage their 8.5" (or whatever their R1 is)  :D

How does the GE 4/4 II compare with the Kato version?

I have some of the HAIK vans from MDS and they seem to be a little bit higher than the loco....
