Well that might just put a time stop on my layout.  ;) I was wondering where to draw the line, and with a very recent acquisition of a second Driving Trailer and some more coaches in the current livery, 2018/19 seems as good a date as any.

Quote from the article that details the mods to the 341 coaches:
“The modernization of a car takes 8 weeks, every third working day a vehicle is completed. At the Olten plant, work is being carried out on 14 cars at the same time. ..... In total, over 32,000 new seats are being upholstered, 40 kilometers of carpet laid and over 120 tons of paint applied.”

Usual Swiss efficiency.

Not a bad idea, but I thought I wouldn't buy a Vectron but I have...

My new NME sugar hoppers arrived today. Three different styles in Nacco livery and one in VTG. The VTG has hand=wheel operated discharge gates, and the Nacco versions have lever-operated. The top view of the VTG wagon shows the nicely reproduced etched walkway and individual fill hatches, which contrasts with the full length swinging roof hatch on the Naccos.

Superb models with great detailing. Enormous beasts, and as your double-decker in the background shows, fully exploiting the loading gauge.

Thanks for posting.

New arrival on Steinheim - the Fleischmann BR 86. Just (re-)released; ideal motive power for my Epoch III 6 wheelers.

My latest rolling stock is also the first to leave the Harthofen fleet :goodbye:

Still with the price tag in "Escudos" (:heart2:) in the box, the coach is just like new, but it was impossible to blend in into my working timetable at the layout.

It is going to depart tomorow to its new home after a few days on eBay.

Next stop for this SBB coach: UK.  :hellosign: :D

I love these Arnold Mallets, very smooth and powerful locos.  I've had the black one since the mid 80s, but the other two have both arrived this year.

I feel the need for a green one too, but will have to let the bank balance recover for a while first!

They are fine on 9" radius.  My Kato oval is R315 I think so absolutely no problem.

well where do i start i have had a lot of new stock in since i posted here last to start with some old minitrix and roco locos a br216 by minitrix came with very poor paintwork so it had a rough make over and my frist attempt at weathering and adding directional led lighting, and to top it off no motor at all so i pulled one out of my motor trial drawer which cost me about £4 off ebay and away it went for a test round the layout video link below

next was a br232 mintirix which had no battery box and a br blue yellow paint job, i always wanted a silver version of this so off i set with a silver metallic marker pen and my newly aquired weathering powders and it then got the dcc treatment.

then on to my next 2 loco's one is an old minitrix vt75 3 car unit which is now dcc sound with directional lighting purchased for the total sum of £40 off ebay as a buy it now it has a doehler & haass sd10 sound decoder and a sugar cube speaker cost a total of £105 for the whole lot

the next is a loco by minitrix i wanted and saved for a while as it was £200 a brand new br290 by minitrix with sound just awaiting some krois dcc uncouplers to complete

The sound on that shunter is very impressive. I particularly liked the brake squeal.

The proximity to that edge still makes me cringe, though! Sorry!

(I lost a favourite loco like that, so perhaps I'm oversensitive)

just for you a picture of the brarrier in placelocos dont enter that platform over a scale speed of 30 mph even if the track was 6 inches in you could still catch it with an arm so i am very wary of when walking around i have to put locos on and off the track most of the day while testing cutsomer locos after repair or conversion i call it the photoshoot platform
