Thanks for the link Gordon - nice pic!

I did a bit of a search round and found this video on Youtube - although it isn't a BR232, it is a loco in PCC scheme, and has a right mottley collection of coal hoppers behind it!

181.133-0 PCC RAIL z towarem w kierunku Zawiercia.

I got my 12 car set after someone here posted a link to Kernow's sale items. That set was usually around £300, but they were getting rid of their last set for £150!  :o Didn't take me long to convince myself that I couldn't do without it! They do come up on E-bay singly occasionally - but at £25-£30 each!

I picked up one of these DB brake vans (?) For £6 today from Harburn Hobbies..
Only realised that it has working lights when I got home and had a good look at it.
Track is up and power off for some wiring tidying so I'll have to wait to see if it works

Any info gratefully received - it doesn't really get me anywhere other than eBay when I Google it.

OK, so this is the Dapol model of a UK sliding hood wagon, not a continental model exactly... but it's a VTG Ferrywagon which will be operating on a German themed layout, so I hope you'll forgive me posting it in this section:

And it's intended to run with this somewhat older Roco model:

The more modern (Dapol) wheel flanges are a lot smaller than the old Roco ones!

Pat brought me a (very) nice BR 614 in Türkis / cream livery.

Very good condition but inside and running gear needed a good clean. All pretty much perfect now but I'm waiting for some new traction tyres and Profi couplings to come through.

It blends in very well with my current eighties fleet  :camera:

Doesn't strike me as a very common vehicle on DB. Can't recall ever seeing one. PLus the database link you showed states 1993 as a end date for their use, which seems a bit late to me. I don't recall 2-axle vehicles surviving into the 90s on DB

Hi everyone,

this beauty just arrived:

It's a DB AG 112.1 in orient red. They were built in the early 90's as express locos and are based on the DR multi purpose 243s (DB AG 143s ). The class is the only one that was built for both state railways (DR and DB). With a top speed of 160 km/h they were not as fast as 103s or 120s and were often used for Interregio trains (which I still need :D). Today they run for DB Regio mainly with DoStos.
Although I usually don't like orient red, I think it really suits this loco.

Cheers
Michael

Nice. I agree Michael with your sentiment. I very much prefer the current Verkehrsrot to the Orientrot, but some of those older (just) engines do pull it off well.

Yes very much. Always. Have been in the same boat recently. Lots of work and no time to unpack purchases.

Couple of photos of the latest disappointment to arrive. I'm afraid that 4 out of the last 5 purchases have disappointed to a greater or lesser degree. Anyway, an Arnold hopper wagon, acquired at a good price and no complaints about the service.

So why the disappointment? Well, at some stage, some bright spark at Arnold has decided to add an unloading device (older but otherwise identical models don't have this). This is a gross slug of transverse metal which is extremely ugly and horribly unprototypical in its placement. It appears very difficult to remove without damaging the wagon, and cannot easily be cut as it is solid metal. Moreover, it is completely and utterly useless - because there is no way this wagon could ever be used for loading/unloading as it comes with a dummy plastic load already installed!!!

It's about to meet some heavy duty metal cutters...

That's better, the ugly metal protrusions have gone now. Permanently.

That seems odd...  :hmmm:

Glad you sorted it out in the end.
