Hello,
I recently purchased a Dapol A4 steam loco by mail order, and on unpacking found that the motion had partly become detached due to a missing drive wheel securing head pin. I presume these screw into the wheel hub?
I contacted Dapol assuming it was covered by the warranty, but they have referred me to DCC Supplies. However, I do not see the part on there website.
Any advice will be gratefully received!
Regards,
Mark

The availability of spares for Dapol locos is rather limited.

I've been looking for a buffer for a B17 for 12 months now with no success.

Good luck !

Best regards,

Joe

Not everything they have is on the website. Suggest you give them a call.

DCC supplies are the provider of the guarantee  services for Dapol models. I suspect what Dapol meant was "go to DCC supplies for a warranty fix" not "fix it yourself"

With all faulty goods your first point of return is the shop who sold it to you. That is what is enshrined in law. Dapol also offer a two year (but read the small print.. its really worthless after one) guarantee in addition your statuatory rights.

If you contact DCC supplies they should be able to help, get it shipped to them free of charge, repaired and back to you - probably in far better shape than most of the Dapol models leave China.

As stated, your first point of return is where you purchased it.
Let them have the hassle - they sold sub standard goods and should just send you a replacement (and pay the cost of your return to them)
To my mind, Dapol telling you to contact DCC Supplies is a cop out :hmmm:

Not wishing to get into the debate about who should take ownership for the fault or if the product should be returned but is this the item you are referring to?

As far as I see it you have two options, return to sender for refund 'not fit for purpose' or send it to DCC Supplies.

Dcc Supplies is just down the road for me, and they have fixed all my broken dapol models some even twice now. I have not had any issues with them I found them to be very helpfull.
