Christmas is coming ! - Christmas Layouts

Seem to get earlier every year.

Harrods have just had their Christmas parade and even here in Adelaide we had the Christmas pageant at the weekend - and its ONLY NOVEMBER ! 

Still I thought it might be interesting to start a Christmas Layout thread. Somewhere to show all those Christmas Specials etc

So here's a Christmas train video courtesy of Model Railroad Hobbyist to get you started and all in the mood.

This layout was both started AND completed by my uncles brother "Bill" in 2004. The layout was strongly influenced by the LeHigh Valley railroad and has always been his favorite. Many of the small towns were also influenced by the "Hallmark Hall of Fame" Christmas shows.

Great stuff, that's what it's all about!  I liked those big trains taking curves at speed.

Deck the (GWR) Halls! Lionel may not be very realistic but I bet most adults and kids enjoy watching it.

And that's the name of the game.

John Lewis have turned the lower floor of The Mall at Cribbs Causeway into a giant Christmas Railway with a loco and about 4 trucks driven by an elf with pointed ears who is about Hagrid's size. It's actually the Easter Train/Summer Hols Train/Halloween Train wit different polystyrene decorations on top but the same monotonous chuffing sound and permanently prodded hooter button.

It hasn't managed to hit anyone yet I think but there is still 6 weeks to Christmas.
