Hornby Catalogue Covers - nostalgia IS what it used to be... sometimes

Now, now, Vanders !

While trackplans were good for dreaming of what you would one day have, the catalogues were just stuffed full of the pretties (and there were some not-pretties too mainly in BR Blue and Toothpaste  ) ...

I still enjoy getting them, although these days it's less of dreaming of what's coming, and more of wondering if they'll ever do what they promise    Case in point - the O1 class in last years catalogue was advertised with a Tyne Dock photo - yet they haven't done one in that fit     SWMBO was very disappointed, so much so I'm going to have to get a conversion kit & do it myself 

SWMBO does still sometimes dig a pile of trackplans out & covers the bed, to spark off ideas on what she wants for the large layout  .  Trouble is - she's lost the plan she drew up, so has to start all over again !  :'(
