Very nicely detailed.

'Well seen' as my professional photographer uncle would have said.

We are at the Stevenage Museum Model Railway day August 10th and the St Albans Model Engineers show on 28 & 29th September. Are these any use if you're after photos?

Thanks for the info - I don't know if I'm around then but I'll make a note.

H.

Good luck.

Tricky to be at Stevenage tomorrow as I'm now at Nancy, north of here: http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=33
She was very accommodating.

Enjoyed being part of the team on Horseblock Lane at it's first exhibition.    I think it really proved the concept, and identified one or two easily-fixed teething problems (running and coupling, what else!)

Lots of positive comments received!

Cheers

Pleased to read the first time out was a success, not that there was any doubt of that!

Look forward to hearing about that earlier mentioned extension.

Dave,

Don't encourage Neal!   I think it's a little gem that shouldn't be extended!   ;)

Neal - don't listen to Dave!!!!

Best to both,,,   Jon  :)

Dave, i'm not sure my extension ideas will happen as i'm having my head turned in the direction of new projects, which will of course please Jon!  :laughabovepost:

I took a few photos today, or I should really say 'snaps' as they're not really posed, (or even that well focused for that matter), just snatched when we had a moment during the day.

As Jon said, it proved entertaining to run for the day, and a bit more attention to coupling set up should ease the teething troubles. I was nervous, but it proved to be fun and we've got a couple of invites to shows in the pipeline now.  :)

if the new project is as carefully constructed as Horseblock Lane, it will be a grand piece of work.

Thanks for the extra pics and once again congrats for a well-received first outing.

Some pictures of our weekend at the St Albans and District Model Engineering Society show last weekend. Apparently they broke their record attendance this year and it certainly seemed a busy weekend.

We suffered a broken controller when setting up on the Saturday morning which caused a small panic. Half of the Morley Zero Twenty stopped working, so we ran for the first hour off a quick re-wire and with just the good half of the controller. Luckily our good friend Jon, (PostmodN66 on here) turned up hot off a plane from Singapore with a spare controller and we were quickly back up to full functionality.

We suffered from dirty track and a few derailments, so remedies are in hand to avoid too many intervening full scale hands, either cleaning or re-railing. A Gaugemaster unit will be wired in and a more fixed approach to train formations will be adopted to stop random coupling length variations from causing derailments on the entry curve from the back scene.

We had some very nice comments and a lot of repeat visits from our younger viewers, so we must be doing something right! Apologies for the quality of the pictures, but they were snatched shots on the odd occasion when we weren't too busy. As you can see, my son Callum did a sterling job keeping the trains moving out front all weekend.

Great looking layout but I think the people in the foreground are a "Tad" overscale...
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.
