Mmm, Ford container  8)

Can't say I've had any derailment issues with mine, is this anything to do with changing the wheels?

As for uncoupling, since they're eBay purchases have you checked each coupling spring is straight and undamaged? ;)

cheers john good idea and cheaper than 'liquid gravity'.  i can just glue these strips inside the containers...

hi paul cheers for reply - derailments are because they are so light i think, and maybe the finer and smaller wheels as well... the couplings are nem ones attached onto the new atm bogies i fitted, since they will be in fixed rakes of 5 flats + 5 flats i guess i can just stick the couplers together if this keeps happening...

as for motive power - i have 1x 56 and 2x 58s, but these were rare on containers, so that leaves 47 035 to pull them. the other viable alternatives are a peak (i have a 45/1 and a 46, although by late 80s they were withdrawn), or i could use 37254 and / or 37239...

maybe double headed 37s will be out to play tomorrow night...

cheers again for the replies

just had a thought, should I have cut down the pin that holds the bogie on? the pin is now oversized as bogies smaller so v lose fitting... anyone fitted atm bogies know what is best to do?

cheers

Hi

I think I cut the pin down on mine. I usually go for a 10 thou (0.25mm) gap when fitting the bogie pins.

A trawl through here will find some suitable containers for an '80's train.
