Tim, we could have met! I was actually a reservist and did my two weeks at Raleigh in July 1989. I definitely do remember meeting Mike Brotherton then.

Ha!  A few months before I arrived.  I was MB's successor.  His hand-over notes to me simply contained instructions on how to bull my shoes :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

I forgot to thank everyone for their warm welcome. I already have a question about the forum.  I understand Administrators and Mods, but is there a graduated membership based on the number of posts?  ie.  Newbie - Full Member - ???  :)

There were a lot of 'ranks' which come as standard on the forum.  I've changed it to Non-Posters, Newbie (10 posts or less), Full Members, Mods, Global Mod, Admin.

Thanks, Cudders!  I'm still exploring, but like the forum a great deal.  It's possible that its helpful members will lure me away from HO scale ;D
