I recently decided that I wanted to start adding nameplates to various locos I'd either renumbered or repainted, and headed straight to Shawplan.

I had a list of names, and it soon became obvious that this was going to be a very expensive project.

as I'd had transfers made to order by Railtec I e-mailed Steve with a list of the plates, and he said he'd do them for me.

he also asked me if I thought there would be much of a market for name plate transfers, so I said I'd post the question on here and see what the general opinion was.

I'm sure that for just one ot two locos the Shawplan plates would be ideal, but would you be interested in transfers for names as well, or instead.

Steve is always looking to expand his range of transfers, and hopefully if enough people would be interested he might make them part of his range, so please give your views, and I can pass them on to Steve.

I think there is a market for these if the price can be low enough.

I got my Western nameplatess from Precision Decals. They were waterslide, but the silver is raised and shiny.  They are delicate, but you get spares just in case. They also need a coat of matt acrylic to protect them from rubbing. But they were only a few quid for several sets of names and numbers and it is one of the easiest ways to customize and have more than one loco of one type.

I'm a personality prototype... you can tell, can't you.

I'd be interested to know the cost as well as I've got other custom decal ideas such as WCRC coach numbers, although Precision do these also.

Precision Decals do some nice printed nameplates including a good looking brass/gold colour print. I still prefer etched ones so make my own these days but I've got several Precision Decals ones and I'm happy with them.
