Especially if they go like this one did:

Trouble is, then you have to find yourself another one that will run ok. They aren't always the best runners.

I know. The thing with Ebay is that it is so unpredictable. The day my Duchess went for so much, an identical one ended 40 mins earlier for about 35 quid. The only difference with mine was a closer to scale bogie I had fitted.

Absolutely! If you put a few things on there, start them at 99p with a 7 day listing, ending in the evening, you will rarely be too disappointed.

But yours had the added value of being one of the engines to have run on your superb layout.  A bit like buying a Strat that Hendrix had played...

Hi Jason,

Sorry to hear about your loss. Did you ever manage to sell your grandad's collection? If not, I'd be happy to have a look and make you an offer. I'm in the process of building a large layout for my nephews with my old n-gauge stock and am only 10 minutes away from you in Lightwater.

Let me know if I can help.
