ok, see what you mean, but out of the box, they look overpowerly in your face. Perhaps after the weathering all will be well in the world.

Dapol Western questions:
1) Has anyone had any pickup issues, had mine on it's back to try and clean the wheels, it seems to only have one or two wheels picking up.  I can see it is one of the DJM mechs with the pickups buried inside the bogie and a couple of bits sticking up to connect with wipers under the body.
2) Mine has developed a jerk - it's quite regular, loco runs, comes to complete stop, prod, covers similar short distance, stops, prod and repeat.  I am not sure if this is a sign of a split gear, but when I had the loco up on a rolling road only one bogie had it's wheels rotating and I could actually turn the wheels by hand on the bogie that was not showing any signs of being turned by the motor.  However, I did swap the bogie out for the spare without coupling and it was still doing it.

Something odd going on....

Assuming they have drive shafts it sounds like one of yours has come out, it's possibly fouling, hence the jerky motion. It's far less common to find Dapol locos with split gears.

Thanks, something to look at once I figure out how to completely remove the body seeing as there is a connection to the top of the body for lighting, Dapol, sorry DJ, did not make getting into his models a priority.
