How to mount a body on a chassis?

Hello.
I've almost completed a white metal kit for a steam locomotive body to be mounted on Dapol's Terrier 0-6-0 chassis.
Now the question is: how to put the body and the chassis together? Any idea?
I don't want to glue in case the chassis would need one day some repair.

Where screws etc aren't an option I've use double sided tape. The Terrier chassis block does have a nice flat top to it. Just make sure the chassis doesn't run hot otherwise it may well effect the tape.

I would have thought it would have been included in the kit instructions; if a kit is designed to fit a certain chassis then the kit maker normally tried to make it obvious one way or another.
How do Dapol fix the Terrier chassis to the body?

I'm not aware of any whitemetal kits designed directly for the Terrier chassis so would love to know what it is. Regarding the Dapol Terrier the chassis is an integral part of the footplate which the body clips onto.

I am adapting Peco/Wills NL-6 Peckett saddle tank kit to this chassis.
So there is no instruction.

Blu Tack (Patafix) or Tacky Wax may be possibilities. But there is very little room left to place that inside the body without touching the PCB or the motor.

Double-sided adhesive may also be a possibility. But it has to be very very thin.

The way Dapol fixes the Terrier chassis to the body cannot be reused: it is clipped and the dimensions are not the same.

I'll keep on investigating.

A piece of Micropore surgical tape applied to the top of the block first, before the double-sided tape, should provide some degree of heat insulation ... but at the cost or raising everything a fraction higher.

I have mounted a Peco Manning Wardle pug kit on a Minitrix dock tank chassis ... and you can do this using the fixing screw which goes through the dome of the dock tank ... if I remember correctly I reversed the saddle tank to make it closer in appearance to my chosen prototype (the Garstang & Knott End locomotive "Jubilee Queen"), and the screw needed shortening a little so it didn't stand proud of the saddle tank (Xuron track cutters are ideal for this chore ... but make sure the cat isn't in the room when you do it, as the end of the screw can fly off in unpredictable directions ... )
