Brute mail trolleys

just wondered if anyone had any idea if brutes were available either in plastic or as brass etches.

will need some for Inverknockie, but all I've found so far are either sack trolleys, or the flat barrows.

any info much appreciated

Yes - blows own trumpet - Ultima does them

British Rail Universal Trolley Equipment - Caged trolleys that were generally pulled around by battery electric tubs. The idea was that mail, parcels, etc. could be loaded onto the trolley then the whole trolley loaded into a van (e.g. BG or GUV) so save on handling. They made very good benches for train spotters too!

Thanks for that, Bernard Now I know what is meant and can picture them, but not necessarily holding caged gricers

Cage fighting for trainspotters, steam against diesel....

Mostly they seemed to be used for sleeping in

They made very good benches for train spotters too!

They so did!  I remember that... On the west end of platform 4 at Reading waiting for a Western to roll in.
