TTA question

Hi All,
simple question no doubt, but does the colour of a tank wagon mean anything, or is it down to corporate colours ?

I've got TTAs in Shell BP in both black and grey, all the markings seem to be the same, but before I do something stupid, do the colours refer to contents or anything else that would decide what traffic / customers they were allocated to ?
