2017 has, for me and many people I know, been bad so I hope this is an aberration and everyone else on here has had an overall good year.

However, my best friend's Dad passed away last night so she's having a terrible end to what was already a bad year for her. Although no-one here knows her, and you know me only by my posts, could I please ask that some of you at least hold her in your thoughts, or at least send positive vibes towards Halifax as she'll be having an awful time.

Thanks.

Personally, 2017 has had bad and good times for me. However, I feel for your friend having lost my Sister and a favourite Uncle recently, tell your friend that things will improve for her eventually. It is never easy losing someone, especially at this time of year. I know it is no consolation, but I often think that without bad times, we can not appreciate the good times. (And coming from Bradford, I have some nice memories of Halifax).

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

GroupC, every year has good and bad, tell your friend to try to remember all the good times, a life should be remembered for the good times and joy that came from that person, the day of passing will always be a somewhat sombre day but it does get easier, I got married in 2005 and that same year at 06:30 Christmas Morning my mother in law passed away, we haven't "done" christmas since, but each year it gets easier to deal with, we use that day to remember the good times and talk about what we lost (living on forever in our hearts and minds).

Have a read of this...

Then share the sentiment. It's a thought that's gotten me through some tough times, and reminds me not to be too cocky when everything seems hunky-dory.
