Another superb songwriter gone :(
I guess many of us recall listening to his music as youngsters/students, mainly just after breaking up with your latest girlfriend ;D It was always termed 'music to slash your wrists to' but I think that was unfair, although it certainly didn't brighten up a dull mood.

Malc

Don't know what you mean, Mick. I always found him very upbeat.

The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Geoff

My favourite album of is "Songs of Leonard Cohen"

RIP Leonard

Sad loss. He was brilliant. Saw him live once which was a great experience.

Bealman

Yep, another one of the greats gone. I believe he performed out here in Australia, not that long ago (I think).
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

Papyrus

I never saw him live, but I don't think his style would have appealed to me. However he wrote some great songs. I first heard 'Suzanne' more than 40 years ago and it is still one of my favourites. RIP.

We have lost another great one to be sure. Not a slash your wrists poet/singer for me, but melancholy certainly and deeply profound. My favourite is Suzanne too - tho I can't get Bird on a Wire out of my head at the moment.
