Bar billiards seemed to come in pubs which did not have a skittle alley where I came from in East Kent.

Ah Mick, I see yer pub is one of those franchise places these days, a bit like Wetherspoons? More an eatery than drinkery.

While I have never seen bar billiards, I played the football game heaps in college. For pints, of course.  :beers:
