I think that is the way I'm going to go. I got them all way back when the idea of having a layout first hit me. Now, many many years later, I'm finally in a position where it will happen I think I'll just start getting newer models with far better performance.

Definitely have a go at fixing them yourself if you are up to it. There is a lot of information out there and if you can't find an answer there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here that can help.

I have spent more time tinkering and fixing locos over actual time spent building my layout!
