i am trying to start a n gauge layout.I have bought SL 310 fish plates but they seem to small. It a second hand track Peco.Am i doing something silly.

Malc

No, those are the correct ones for Peco code 55 or code 80 track.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Hi Streak, and welcome to the forum
As Malc says, you have the correct fishplates for Peco N gauge track.

Hyperion

Better they are too tight than too loose!

Make sure the end of the rail is a clean cut. You may need to file a small amount off the bottom of the rail to assist.

Also check the joiner as sometimes they can get a little bent. You can always open them up a little and then squeeze them back together when you have them in place.
DC or DCC, that is the question.
