In the new terms and conditions

"... PayPal reserves the right not to effect a payment made by you until it receives cleared funds (this also means, without limitation, that PayPal is not obliged to settle a refund transaction before having received funding for the original transaction)."

so it seems that if you buy something and the seller does a runner, from now on you'll not get a refund if paypal can't get it back from the seller..

Ouch!

Was that a genuine email I received from Paypal and not a scam - difficult to know what is real and what is not these days!!!
Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Well I got 2 emails today from Paypal one for a product I bought and the other went in the spam post, so that got deleted and never read so they must of come from 2 different addresses, the number of times I have had spam stating it was Paypal is uncountable.

Just been into my account on Paypal and there is no mention of a change of contract, so this must be Spam that was sent.

Go into paypal, click down the bottom on "Policy Updates"

https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/upcoming-policies-full

Thanks for that, seems strange the email went straight through spam when the other on was OK, they seem to change the rules to suit themselves, I will be glad when Paypal vave a rival payment company.

And why I pay for everything via paypal using my credit card, I have had to use "Charge back" twice now to get refunded. They didn't like it either!  :)

No, It means they won't start the refund process to you until the payment from you to them has cleared...

I must admit that's how I read it as well, but wasn't sure as I am easily befuddled by legal jargon.

I might be a bit thick but I wish you didn't need a bloody degree in law to understand these things.  ???

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.
