So the rivet counters thread is locked because it might engender ill feeling... but the cricket jokes thread is left??? Even the site owner made a toungue in cheek post to it rather than shut it or removing it entirely.
Just as much ill feeling could be created by our antipodean cousins teasing us about our shameful cricketing performances.
Enough said, I now know who I would have voted for in the compressed metal fixative enumeration awards if they had been anything other than a mikey take.

Andy, nuff said ! I posted it for a laugh , at this time of year there is Sports personality of
the year etc, not to be taken seriously. I wasn't knocking modellers who achieve a very high standard of realism which I can't and I admire their work.

I haven't even read the cricket thread so I wouldn't know what was in it other than cricket. If there is a problem with specific posts or threads then use the Report button.

I'm glad to hear it. It's very hard for the moderating team to know when to pull the plug on threads - we don't like to do it! Sometimes you just know what is coming. The idea of the 'can of worms' picture was a hope that members would just not bite. I saw it as a joke, but others wouldn't. We all have subjects that get our back up.

modeller of the year as I'm a useless painter. The can of worms was good , the idea was to have a laugh and not take things too seriously. But if certain members felt aggrieved I was not advocating personal attacks on them, just having a bit of fun. In the end we're just playing trains , like golfers are hitting a little ball with a stick. Hope no NGF members are golfers !
