A new Graham Farish Deltic is on my shopping list and I want to plan ahead, has anyone heard about when it's due? I've checked the Farish website but there's no mention of any date.

Hi,

It was due out in Aug/Sept but they changed their website details recently so I think it's delayed. But on eHattons website they do say Aug/Sept.

It appears to have slipped to Jan/Feb next year - unless anyone knows better.

As i have 23 (dont ask) on order, i hope the delay is to put right the cab front windows and bonnet slope, which do spoil a beautiful model.
It will save me getting shawplan to etch replacement windows and then paying Mercig a bootload of cash to put right.

If you're really impatient someone on eBay has one of Lima's excellent Deltic representations on offer for just £40 including postage! Can't say fairer than that.  ;)

Cheers, NeMo

Hi folks just a quick note , Lima Deltics a bit over scale , also traction tyres iffy, plus motors growl a bit , other than that fine

I heard the delay was to improve the fit of the etched roof fan covers which were standing a bit proud on the prototypes. I'm also looking forward to this one but probably won't manage the whole fleet. Will need at least one Finsbury Park Racehorse with white cabs ( to go with a white striped 31/4 and kit built 312s and 313s...).

Hmmmmmm, the change in etch sizes is a matter of days not months, unless they are retooling the aperture for the grilles slightly, but that's about a months worth.

I'm hopeful of the modifications to correct the 1 in 4 ski slope bonnet and correct the cab windows myself.

Correcting the proud roof grilles was an issue to be corrected earlier in the year and more likely the cause of the initial delay - I think this later delay is probably about the livery sign-off and production slots. Unfortunately Graham Hubbard didn't mention anything about further work on the cab windows and nose angles when I spoke to him about the loco.
