I came across this free download of the 10 year old Photoshop CS2 program for Windows and Mac,serial numbers are included.
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3689-adobe-photoshop-cs2.html

The Windows version works okay, but my Mac no longer supports things that this version of the software uses so it wouldn't install.

If I'd found this earlier I wouldn't have just bought Photoshop Elements.  >:(

It states the Windows version will take 25 minutes to download :o
Think I'll try another time :hmmm:

I downloaded the file in just over a minute  8)

This program is not for the feint hearted, it is a complicated piece of software and will require a learning curve.
So if you are looking for something that you can just dive into then this is not for you.

I also registered my copy with no problems  :claphappy:

cheers John.

I only upgraded to CS5.5, from CS2, last year when I bought my new Intel iMac, which is running OSX 10.7 - i.e. CS2 won't run.

CS2 is bloomin' good software, if you've got the hardware to run it. But it definitely isn't for the feint-hearted.
I am not a complete lunatic - there are pieces missing!

Great software that I used back 10 years ago when I was doing paid work, these days I find The Gimp does the same thing just as well and thats been free for years.

NIce to see Adobe giving something decent away instead of the usual Flash and Reader software.

What is it about these IT boffins that they name things "Gimp" or "Flash" :worried:
It's an entirely different world in Leyland

The thing with Photoshop is it's an industry standard, and there's loads of magazines and books out there on how to use it.
I rarely use it for photos anymore, mainly for altering Scalescenes stuff to suit my way of working and getting more out of one printed sheet.A while ago I redrew literally hundreds of model racing motorcycle decals with it.

It seems that I frequently find something new in it.

Years ago I started with Paintshop Pro but found it not very easy to use, then I got a copy of the first edition of Photoshop elements and found it very intuitive to use and IIRC a very similar GUI to Photoshop which was probably at about version 5 then.
The new Photoshop Elements has a completely different look and I think I prefer the full blown Photoshop, there seems more useable space on it.

I think the fact that there are so many tools make it look hard to learn, but as with any software, the more you use it the easier it becomes.
One important thing that I've learned is to make a layer duplicate each time I alter any photos, this means any mistakes can be easily deleted.

Hi Phil,

I've got Winders 7 on Bootcamp on my Mac just for instances such as this, plus the Winders 7 isn't actually allowed to talk to the internet.
I do actually prefer the print options in Widows software.
