Late night running

It's 11.30pm, and I've just come in from an evening's running on the layout in the shed.  But it's not the latest I've been running my trains....

About this time last year, I couldn't sleep as it was too hot.  Insomnia is unpleasant, so I got up and went down to the shed.  Operations started at 4.15am.

Anyone else run their trains during the early hours, or am I just odd?

My layout is in the conservatory which is attached to the main bedroom (don't ask )
In this hot weather I leave the doors open into the conservatory so if I get too hot at night I just roll out of bed and play trains

I knew it wasn't just me Nobby!  If you've got N Gauge lights on the layout, and run a "night" session, it's very therapeutic.

The only lights are on the locos at present as I haven't done the full electrics and scenery yet
As for therapy, everyone else will tell you I need some

I haven't done that, but running trains sounds like a good way to spend time when sleep eludes you. I think I'll run trains next time I can't sleep.

You could try counting private owner wagons that might help

Recently I think I have run more trains during the night than I have during the day because of the uncomfortable heat during the night  :'(

Hmmm... with computer control and stuff you could probably run your trains without actually leaving bed!
